Quick delivery!
Woke up last Tuesday morning at 4 o’clock and immediately started having mild contractions every 2 mins (I’d been having consistent braxtons Hicks for months, knew these were different because they hurt altho not bad). Also lost my mucus plug. This continued ALL day, all just about exactly 2 mins apart but they we only lasting 30-45 seconds and weren’t bad at all, I even took a nap through them.
At about 4pm I went to my husbands work and just walked around (hardware so) hoping the intensity would increase.
At 5 pm I took my two year old to ballet class, still having contractions but not strong enough that anyone else could tell.
Finally around 8pm they all of a sudden amped up and I was moaning through each contraction. Told my husband I didn’t want to labor all night by myself at this point so we packed up and drove the half hour to the hospital.
I was SO afraid they were going to tell me I wasn’t dilated and send me home.
Arrived at 9pm thinking “I’m definitely doing an epidural this time!”. The doctor checked me and started counting “one... two... three, four, five, six... seven... EIGHT!” I was at 8cm! Could not believe it haha. Everyone started rushing around calling in the people they needed. I started shaking at that point and the doctor says “we’re gonna have a baby here in a few hours”.
Got my epidural in which worked perfectly.. took away the pain but I could still feel and move my legs and feel her head descending.
After only 9 mins of pushing (!!! I pushed for houuurs the first time) Estelle Rene was born!
Besides having her days and nights mixed up she has been a super easy baby and I am obsessed 🥰
One week old...
