For anyone looking to get an IUD, I got one about three days ago and wanted to share my experience in hopes of helping someone’s decision. I got the Kyleena which is a low hormone option. I am 18 so definitely young and fertile. I decided an IUD since I am irresponsible and couldn’t remember my pills and am a pretty nervous person so I needed something super effective.

I had some complications with the insertion, it didn’t go in right away it took about 7-8 which is uncommon. It hurt like a bitch, but now three days later I have very little cramping. I’m also spotting, but it’s next to nothing. So I definitely recommend. I’ll try and keep anyone who’s reading updated as to if I have consistent cramping or bleeding.
