Eating at 8 weeks - how often?

my 8 week old is still eating 12+ times per day. i keep reading by 8 weeks babies should be down to 6-8 feedings but i can’t see this being possible. she definitely has longer stretches without eating (3-4 hours) but makes up for it by eating every hour for the next few hours. She’s breast and bottle fed (expressed milk and occasionally formula). Is this normal? Is there any way to consolidate feedings at this age?

My formula fed baby turned 2 months yesterday and she eats 6 ounces every hour to 2 hours. It never fails longest I can get her to go is 3 hours and then she drinks so fast she makes herself throw up.

Mine does the same. She is 7 weeks 3 days, and averages 15 feeds per day. Longest stretch is about 5 hours at night right after cluster feeding from 4-11pm

Every 2-3 hours and at bed time he’ll go a 4-5 hour stretch on certain days but sometimes he’ll only make it 3 hours. He eats 4-5 oz during the day, 6 before bed and 4 oz when daddy wakes up to feed him

Could be cluster feeding or your baby going through a growth spurt. My sons 10 weeks old and probably nurses 10-12 times daily

My baby is 8 weeks 4 days and for the last maybe 2 weeks he’s eating 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm. 3am. So 6 times in a 24 hour period. He sleeps 9:30pm- 3am because that’s when my husband gets up for work so he wakes him to feed him and change him. And then sleeps 4am-9:30am when I’m done pumping and ready to feed him again. 
He gets 4oz bottles
