Does getting your period reduce milk supply?

I’m 4 months postpartum and just got my period yesterday! 🙄
Obviously was not expecting it...
I’m wondering, does getting your period reduce your breast milk supply? 
I want to continue to nurse, but I’m worried that my milk will go away! ☹️

For some people it does but not for all. Just nurse often and on demand. If it does go down it won’t be too much and it’s temporary.

Mine went down during that first period then came right back up to pre-period levels once it ended.

It definitely can. Taking magnesium+calcium when you notice it dropping helps. For me it would decrease a little after ovulation, which is when I would take the vitamins, and then be back to normal the day I got my period

There can be a slight dip for a few days becuase of hormon fluctuation but it shouldn't impact your ability to breastfeed. Just keep feeding on demand.

It did for me but only temporarily.  It was a few days before my period started and then came flooding back in.  Calcium, magnesium, and shatavari helped me keep my supply up a little on the low days xx

I got mine at 6 months and didn't notice any difference in supply. Still exclusively breastfeeding at 1 year.

It can, but it doesn’t happen to everyone. I EP & I haven’t noticed a decrease.

I’m 8 weeks pp and started my period Monday and I’ve noticed I haven’t been getting much milk for my baby like I usually do

It may, you may also not notice any difference at all.

Yes. My son started fussing and being unhappy after feeds a day or two before I got my period and after that all was fine again.
