Period 3 days late

Okay my period is 3 days late today but I’m experiencing cramps I get nauseated I get really tired can anyone help me understand why?

Yeah I don’t know because I was the same way my period was six days late but it finally came yesterday night and I was told that it may have been due to a change in my hormones and also my stress level
