What age did your parents start treating you like an adult?

Im the baby of my family I’m almost 26 and now living halfway across the country from my parents. And I feel like they did treat me like an adult but also helped and guided me through being an adult. But it wasn’t until I was moving and gone that i personally felt like an adult. I totally get how people can’t go back to their parents after moving out.

Parents will always think of their adult children as their babies. We can get annoyed and criticize, but I feel like that'll be us when our kids get older. Circle of life.

I’m 25, living with my fiancé, and we have two kids together. My parents still treat me like a child if we spend too much time together. My parents are narcissists though, so them treating me like a child is more to do with a power trip than anything else.

I moved out at 20. Thatswhen they started treating me like an adult. I moved back in temporarily for other reasons, they started treating me like a kid again. I’ve moved out and now I’m an actual adult 🤷‍♀️

I’m 24 in my own place with my man, step kids, a full-time job & a total adult lifestyle & she still doesn’t get it.
