When to go back to the ED?

When my morning sickness first started, before I got zofran, I ended up in the ED (sent by my doctor) 3 times in a week because I was throwing up so much I couldn’t even get water in my mouth before I threw up.

Now I have zofran every 8 hours and it helps a lot. I only throw up 3-4 times a day. It doesn’t stop the nausea though and I am definitely not taking in enough fluids. Maybe 20-30 oz a day, by sips. If I try to push more, then I throw up.

I’ve been feeling “okay”but definitely have some signs of clear dehydration. My lips are cracked and bleeding all the time, my pee ranges from dark yellow to brown and I only pee 2-3 times a day.

When I called ED though, they told me if I’m getting at least 30 oz in a day down, then I should just see my doctor. But my doctor told me I should go to the ED if I’m feeling dehydrated because that’s where they would send me for an iv anyway 🤦‍♀️

Just not sure what to do. I know some fluids would help me feel so much better but I don’t want to go there and covid test and wait just to be sent home because they don’t think I’m dehydrated enough
