Has anyone ever had a faint positive pregnancy test 3 dpo? Surely that's too early? I waited for 5 mins like the pack says x

How did you confirm ovulation?

No. Nothing has happened at 3 dpo (if you are actually 3 dpo and did not ovulate earlier). If you have conceived, implantation (on average) normally occurs at 9 dpo, as early as 7 dpo, or as late as 12 dpo (so anywhere in-between). And if implantation does take place, it takes another 2-3 days for the HCG to rise, and for any symptoms, if any, to show after.
