Donating milk
My girl was in the NICU for a week and a half. I started pumping cause the NICU is pretty strict about numbers and how much they have to be eating to leave and she wasn't breastfeeding well. I always intended to start breastfeeding when we left but she never took to it after bottle feeding for 2 weeks and honestly it was nice that my hubby could take turns feeding at night.
I quickly developed an over supply cause that's what happens sometimes when you exclusively pump. I'm hesitant to wean my boobs down in case it drops too low so I signed up to donate to my local milk bank. (I don't need a stock pile til I plan to stop pumping and my goal is at least 6 months.)
I'm proud to say I just donated 805.5 oz today! 🤗
I'm so happy to help other mothers who may not be able to breastfeed.
