Perfect age gap?

My hubby and I are thinking about trying soon. For those of you with more than 1 kid... what’s the age gap? do you recommend it? Would
You have done it differently looking back?

I have a 3.5 year old, 1.5 year old and almost 6 month old. I loved the two year age gap best. My two year old started to be more independent at that age, wanted to help, and could understand and follow directions much better. He also started gaining more interest in things that my husband could do with him (bike riding, playing catch, fishing) so he really didn’t want to be with mama all the time and I could focus on my newborn.

There is no such thing as a perfect age gap. There are pros and cons to any gap you choose. If you’re going based on “I want my kids to be close” you can erase that from your list lol. I have two siblings and I’m closer to the one who is 14 years older than me. We just vibe well, whereas my other sibling and I got in massive physical and verbal fights our entire lives. I went three years without speaking to her. Our personalities are total opposites. 
Choose an age gap you feel comfortable with and what’s right for your family.

My kids are 2 years and 8 months apart, they get along super well so far. They do have their little fights but it's rare and usually over some toy. I will admit that adjusting was a little tough, but it was much easier since my daughter has always been a super gentle kid, she was probably more excited about her brother than most of us.

My kids are 10.5 months apart. It’s an exhausting age gap. I love it though. Soon they will be able to do the same stuff, eat the same stuff, sleep the same ( hopefully). My original plan was 18 months apart. 
My mom did a 2 year age gap and then a 3 year age gap. I think she definitely had it easier with the three year age gap. My brother was much more independent.

Best age gap is between 2&3 years. Less means the kid's interests are almost the same and they will collide, too apart the interests are too different for them to enjoy eachother's company without one just giving in. But once they are over 15 or adults,  depending on upbringing,  the age difference will not matter.

I have a 12 month age gap and will be having another 12 month age gap. 🤣😅
As of right now with just the two I am absolutely loving it. 
My mom did a 12 month, 2 year, 6 year, and another 5 year gap and she said she had wished that the last two had been 2 years apart so she wasn’t completely out of the baby phase so it hadn’t been like completely starting over. She said she liked the 12 month best when she was young (21 when she had her first) and wouldn’t have done it again later but that 2-3 would have been great. She also did foster care for infants so we often had infants and toddlers really close in age to my youngest brothers in the house and she loved it (but she also had help from the older kids).

We have a 3.5 year age gap between #1 and #2 and a 18month gap between #2 and #3. Honestly both age gaps are amazing in different ways. The 3.5 (and 5year between #1 and #3) is amazing! No jealousy at all, just pure love and excitement. She full understands everything and was even fantastic when u came out of hospital after c-section. The 18month age gap is amazing too but I fully feel that it's down to the child? Aria isn't demanding, she will happily go off and play on her own if her big sister isn't there and I'm busy. She LOVES the baby so much and so far we have had no jealousy but again I think that's down to the family situation 🤷🏼‍♀️ Aria has always had to share us because she's always had her big sister. I imagine if the smaller age gap was first it would be ALOT harder! No idea how the age gaps affect the youngest yet as she is 6weeks

I have a 20 month and 3 year age gap between my kids. 20 months was nice because they got to be on the same schedule and would nap at the same time. It was harder when we had a 3 year gap with my June baby because my girls wanted to play outside 24/7 and I was trying to take care of a newborn. While a 3 or 4 year old can be helpful at times, they also are into themselves and don’t fully understand why you can’t do what they want all the time. Also, my 4 year old plays kinda rough with her brother now that he’s more like a kid to her which ads another element of frustration.

We have a 2 year (almost to the day) age gap and a 17 month age gap! Now that my son is 3 I 10000% believe that would have been the best between all of them! He's so helpful and can understand/explain things!
