My husband and I are expecting a baby in June and he wants his mom to come live with us permanently to watch the baby. I am starting a new job soon and will work 4 days a week. I make a lot of money and can afford child care by myself, but he is insisting that his mom comes and lives with us. She stayed with us for two months before and it was awful. I felt like I was a teenager again and we always have to pay for everything for her. We also don’t get any alone time between my husband and I when she is around. I am so scared she will come and live with us and she will try acting like my sons mom and not give me the opportunity to be there for him. She also doesn’t even speak English and I do not speak her native language which makes communication impossible. I already know she is going to make me feel guilty for working and not staying home with my child but I have no choice but to work. My husband is threatening that he will leave me if his mom is not allowed to stay with us but I just don’t think that is fair. I am an adult I need my own space and to be able to have my own life with my child and husband. What should I do?
