How are you dealing with tantrums??🥴

My daughter just started a couple weeks ago pretty much screaming at everything she wants or can’t get and throws a fit if shes upset. I try distracting her or suggesting something else but that doesn’t always work. What are you doing to keep your toddler happy??

I ignore my babys tantrums. She usually will kick, scream, and throw herself on the floor when she doesn't get what she wants. Ive noticed that when I just ignore her she gets over it way faster then when I sit there and try to interact or distract her.

My girl has been doing this for awhile now. I usually just say something like “I know it’s frustrating it’s ok if you’re upset about it” and other than that we just ignore her. She gets over it pretty quickly if we leave her alone and let her throw her fit then we go back to whatever it was we were doing previously.

I try to maintain consistent and not say NO so much.. when he does have tantrums I explain why he can’t do certain things and try to explain to him his emotions and what exactly is bothering him.

I start with trying to explain why he can’t have or do whatever it is and distract and if he was to continue then I just ignore it . He hasn’t had many he understands so much and doesn’t really get into things he’s knows he’s not suppose to .

I follow big little feelings on Ig, they give ideas and scripts of how to deal with tantrums without telling/punishing. (Backed by science). I try this 
But sometimes I just yell and tell her to stop 😣. I’m not proud but jeezzzzz

Label what they are feeling, show them love while still setting the boundary (it’s my job to keep you safe, I can’t let you do that.... use a calm loving voice, pick her up if she wants that or just stay near), help her move on to another activity
I like the idea that this is a learning moment to help them process and express their emotions. I’m hoping in the long run she will know mom is a safe place to go with feelings and as she gets older.
But honestly she hasn’t had full on tantrums just yet. More like crying and screaming for a couple minutes.

Honestly, I will say no to something and when he starts throwing a fit, I just walk away from him. Normally his tantrum lasts about 5-10 seconds now and he gets distracted by something else.

I hold him (if I can) and validate whatever it is like... you wanted to put ur hands in the toilet and I wouldnt let u you are upset about that. I also try to prep as much as possible to prevent them but obviously they happen!
