What type of water are you using for formula?

I live in Nevada and the tap water is super hard and 100% not usable for mixing with formula. I don't even drink it. So, what type/brand of water are you using for your newborn? I know distilled water works but buying a jug of water a day seems drastic? Idk. Help?

I live in Texas but I like to buy from Walmart or any nearby grocery store a gallon of their brand purified water to save money vs name brands. The gallon jugs are less than a dollar and you can fill a dispenser or pitcher with it.. it’ll be more cost efficient compared to buying water bottles! Hope this helps!

I live in Nevada as well and we’ve always just used bottled water. Kroger(smiths), Costco, sams club. Whichever was the best deal. We’ve done it with both of our kids and never any issues.

When we decided to start trying for pregnancy we got a reverse osmosis water filtration system. It’s got 5 filters and fits in the cabinet under our sink. It’s an upfront cost but has been great because we know we’ve got lead pipes and this way we’re filtering it out and not having a bunch of bottles or jugs of water to dispose of all the time. I think it was maybe $150ish?  If your water is going to be problematic over the long term might be worth looking into. Wasn’t hard to install.

Tap water with Brita filter. My son's pediatrician recommends against using distilled water because it lacks some of the vitamins found in water sources. She said as long as you heat it up to kill bacteria, you can use basically any water source besides well water.

I always bought nursery water in the baby section for my first daughter that I didn’t nurse. Idk if that’s still a thing or not though.
