Teen moms, would you recommend it to others? Especially your own child.

Just curious from real people. As I saw somewhere online some person said 16 is an ideal age to have kids cause you aren't too tired to play with them (not sure how they took care of everything else, but that was their big takeaway).

Omg I can't even with this poll ... SIXTEEN???? YA NO. I'm 34 and can play with my toddler just fine. Wtf do people get this stuff from? 16 is too damn young for having babies. Limited maturity. Not Financially stable. Lacking emotional intelligence. The list goes on. TLC and all those dumb teen pregnancy shows glorifies teen pregnancy... ugh

My 16 year old ass loved to sleep in until 12 on the weekends. My mom would have had to drag me out of bed if I hit snooze for school. Whoever thinks they wouldn’t be tired with a newborn at 16 obviously has no idea and is not ready for a child 😂

Sixteen is not the ideal age to have kids. You’re still a child yourself. You can’t even support them. Having kids as a teen is a terrible idea all around.

My ma had me at 16, 3 months away from being 17. My dad was 17 when she got pregnant and turned 18 two days before I was born. 10 months later she had my brother at 17. Both unplanned. She didn't even know she was pregnant with him until he was crowning at a restaurant. Obviously as a kid I was oblivious to everything but as I've gotten older (I'll be 31 this year) I see the lasting effects its had on my parents lives. Granted both are doing hella good now, but it was an uphill battle every step of the way. They got married as soon as ma turned 18 (4 months after my brother was born) and divorced when I was 23. I did start having sex at 17. But I was always safe about it. Didn't start TTC until I was 20 and married. Didn't know infertility and pregnancy loss would be an issue. But I still wouldnt have started trying any earlier even if I had known. 
I wouldn't encourage my children to start trying in their teens. I hope to have enough of a relationship with them that they feel comfortable talking to me about these things. I plan to give them all the info they need to keep them safe. But I also know things happen. If it happens, I'll do my best to get them through it. I'd be disappointed for sure, but I wouldn't love them any less or kick them out or leave them to fend for themselves. They're my babies and those would be my grandbabies.

It may be physically better but not mentally. A 16 year old is not very mature at that age. I had my son when I was 17, and I was definitely not ready for it.
