Help! Spotting seen without ovulation

Hi , I have quite irregular periods and I think I've never seen a positive ovulation from the time I started testing and I'm trying to conceive .

I've been tracking my ovulation starting CD16 and never did I get a positive ovulation test until today . And today on CD26 I had spotting. I'm confused 🤔 . Can somebody help me understand why is this spotting ?

I also took a ovulation test today morning and it came out negative.
