Fingers crossed

Anyone ever have a missed period and have a negative test.... I’m 9 days late and still showing negative. But I read it could take up to 3 weeks after my missed period to show a positive result. I’m hoping I am and the HCG is just taking it’s sweet time going up. My periods are always regular and always 4 days and 28 days in between. And we were having a lot of sex without protection, we (him really, I’m 36 so I’m ready for another before time runs out) weren’t trying to get pregnant but we knew the risk as well.
