Anyone experiencing night sweats ?

Hi ladies . I haven’t had my period in 5 months . My obgyn put me on metformin last week. This week I have been waking up constantly in the middle of the night soaked wet in sweat. I’m so tired because I’m not sleeping right because of this . Have any of you experience this ? Could it be because I started a new medication ? Or Should I be concerned and talk to a doctor about this ? I am 21 years old btw I know most women have it because they’re getting close to menopause but I highly doubt this is the case .
