Who respectfully would be in your line?
So for anyone who can relate to this scenario: I’m close with my mom, we have a great relationship, was there for me with my first born, always there for me when I need her and has been through thick and thin. Same goes for my grandmother, although we lived in different countries for most of my life, we have a great relationship now and I can talk to her about anything....
Now we found out we’re having a girl and we plan to name her Alyssa Saffiyah (my mothers middle name and the name of my sister who passed away as an infant “myself and my other sisters made a pact to use her name as our girls middle name when the time comes)
Long story short, my grandmother was not so much offended but extremely jealous when we announces it and said “you would have thought she named her after me first”..... how would you feel here, do you believe there is a maternal hierarchy of some sort of honor when naming in this situation?
