Would you give your kids toys you played with as a child that were then stored in a basement for 30 years?

I’ve had to be careful as a lot of my childhood toys the plastic has turned brittle, I let him play with my doll house but hé leaned on it and it broke. So I now inspected the toys to make sure the plastic hasn’t been cracked. No cracks =green light to play :)

I would be worried about the paint. Lead was banned in paints about 40 years ago but some old toys still were painted with lead paint especially if the toy was not made and assembled in the US. To me its not worth the risk.

We have always bought our daughter new toys(she is two), but she isn’t really interested in them. When she goes to my MIL she has toys that are 20something years old and my daughter loves playing toys over there and keeps entertained for hours with those toys🤷‍♀️ not sure why but she definitely has a preference for the older toys!

Depends on what it is. My grandparents had some old toys in their basement from years ago. After they were cleaned, they were good as new and provided me with a renewed sense of joy seeing them in action again.

We bought my grams house and my kids play with toys I played on when I was tiny and I’m 31. Blocks, tinker toys, riding horse, fisher price toys, etc. Also, my husband gave my son his collection of Hot Wheels cars and he has a ton of erector sets in the attic for when our son is old enough.
