Yesterday at around 3 pm I noticed brown blood when I went to the restroom. It was about the size of a quarter. I called the doctor and he said that if it increased and turned red to call him back. Well it did just that. I called him back and he said he wanted me to come in first thing in the morning but I couldn't wait. I had to know right then. We went to the hospital, where the doctor there told me it was more than likely a miscarriage. I was devastated...

They took blood and urine and then they took me back for an ultrasound (which the doctor wasn't going to do because he was sure of himself). Once back in the u/s room I asked if the woman doing the u/s could tell me anything. She told me no, of course. Then all of a sudden after was seemed like forever, she turned the screen towards me and said, "I'm not suppose to do this. I could get in a lot of trouble so please, don't say anything. But here you can see movement and that flicker is the heartbeat." I just kept thanking her! She changed my entire outlook on everything going on. The doctor had been treating me as though I was having a miscarriage but she put my mind at ease. They told me I had a threatened miscarriage. I go to see my obgyn tomorrow for a follow up. I'm so nervous because I'm still bleeding just no where near as much. They couldn't find why I am bleeding. This whole thing has me scared to death!! Has anyone else had this happen? I would love to know that I'm not alone.
