New sleep issues
Is anyone dealing with a sleep regression or new sleep issues? My LO has slept through the night in her own room since she was 2 months old with the exception of a few sleep regressions where she would wake up briefly and usually put herself back to sleep. She has always taken awhile to settle herself down for naps and bedtime, so we’re used to letting her CIO. The last two days she stands up as soon as I put her in her crib and will not lay back down, no matter how long we leave her. Last night, she stood for about an hour and then finally sat down when she got tired. We watched her on the monitor while she sat and swayed back and forth (fighting off sleep) for another hour after that. She fell back twice when she feel asleep, but then immediately woke up crying. Going in to lay her back down doesn’t work - she stands up again before I even get out of the room and it starts the crying cycle over. We never let her sleep in our bed, but that was the only way we could get her to sleep last night. She had to be right on top of me and when I tried to lay her down between my husband and I so I could sleep, she just sat up and started crying. As long as I’m holding her, she’s fine, but we don’t want to create bad sleep habits. I know she’s teething, but that’s not new and she’s never acted like this before. Any ideas what this could be or suggestions on how to handle it? Also, we know she’s tired because if we put her in the car or her stroller, she falls asleep immediately.
