Tattoos while pregnant... Wait.. What??!

So It's none of my business and I'd never say anything- but I know someone who is 16 wks along and got a tattoo sleeve finished.... Is this more common than I thought? I thought we pregnant women couldn't do that...

Her artist is a moron & should lose his license. No REAL tattoo artist would tattoo a pregnant woman.

Its the doctor who decided... I ssked my tattoo artist and he said that if my doc gives the Go thenhe does it.... He says it depends from one doc to the other... Some say yes some say no... But he does not make the decision himself.... I didnt mind to go get tattooed but decided not to just because i knew some people would jusdge me even though the doc would say yes..... See i was right ;) hahaa

Most tattoo place  will refuse do do tattoos on pregnant women  because of the  risk of passing  hiv   And any other bacteria and  because harmones changes the colouring of the ink  the don't recommend it and  same with hair dying because hair dye might not process with the right color tone

With a clean shop, I feel, it is no more dangerous than not being pregnant. The trouble is getting an infection while healing (open skin). Again I say with a CLEAN, STERILE shop. I had one during my first pregnancy before I knew and everything turned out fine. I am not risking it with this pregnancy. Most respectable artists will not do it anyway, understandably.

I got one at almost 6 weeks pregnant I had just found out and had to keep my appointment lol I flew home to Michigan for it haha. But my tat guy said first trimester is fine after that it's not a good idea because of how your skin changes
