severe cradle cap

anyone else experienced severe cradle cap with their LO? she’s 7 weeks old and i’ve been trying to get it out when olive oil and it comes back which is weird. it’s very crusty and yellow at her front hairline and it smells aweful.. I stopped using the olive oil and have been using pretoleum jelly since it’s a healing agent if by chance it’s infected and I think maybe it is bc her neck lymph nodes are swollen (at least I think) she has a lump on her neck and that’s what I read from doctor google.. I mean idk i’m confused and so saddened that i can’t get it gone.. will be calling her doctor in the morning to be seen in case it’s infected. when I get the front out it’s like it’s wet looking and then turns crusty and yellow.. I pick flakes out of her head all day long and it’s driving me maaaad
