Unmask yourself

James 1:22-23

22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgotten what manner of man he was

Each morning we all have our own personal routine for preparing each morning. Some wake up, potty, and then clean themselves up in the mirror. Others go quickly for coffee. And yet others do something else. Whatever the routine we all stand before our mirror and transform our appearances. We become who we think will make us more appealing to ourselves, our husbands, children, friends and even church friends. We hide behind many masks. We hide behind pretensions all while shouting the promises of God over our fakeness. Let me present to you that the issue isn't that God words is void. The issue is that you're masked. When you're masked you say what you think people what to say and you do what you think they would want you to do. And consequently this boils over into your relationship with God. You become religious in telling God what you think He wants to hear. You become religious in doing what you think he wants to see you doing. The issue become you're worshiping but you're not worshiping in the spirit of truth. Ladies, please today/tonight sit before in honesty. Take off your mask and admit you're still hurting, you're still mad or sad. Admit that you have doubt, that you have depression or that you're confused. Whatever it is give it to God. Then ask Him to show you have to move passed these things. Go study scripture that you will learn to understand them. But dont continue to use prayer, worship, or scripture as a bandaid to hid your problems when you dont believe them, understand them or trust them. Remove your mask and be transformed.
