Birth control help!

Hey all. So I’ve been on birth control for a week now. Would it be safe to have unprotected sex now? Or should I wait a little longer. I wouldn’t allow my boyfriend to ejaculate inside of me since it could ruin my pH but I want to make sure when exactly would the pills be effective.
