cry it out method?

what are your opinions on letting a baby cry it out? i hate it but everyone around me is advising me to do it. i tried it once & it didn’t help her sleep like everybody said it would. it had no positive effects.

3 months is too young for crying it out anyways.
Try to establish a sleep routine that tells her it’s time for sleep. For us at nap time it’s waking in a dark room singing softly to her until she’s sleepy then lying her down.
At night time it’s bath, story while she’s feeding and then right to her crib. —keeping the room very dark.
If she doesn’t sleep right away, I give it 2 minutes, then go in and rub her back, ssh her, and sing very very softly to her—for just a little bit. Then I leave and if she’s still crying I give it another couple of minutes and repeat until she falls asleep or I give up and try again in like an hour or once she starts showing signs that she’s tired again.

I do not like cry it out method at all. We didn't do it and my daughter is just fine. Naps great, sleeps in her own bed just fine at a regular time.

I’m supportive of sleep training, but the cry it out method seems cruel. We used the book “Twelve Hours of Sleep by 12 weeks” which is kind of the opposite of cry it out, but really helped my son so we plan to do it again for this baby.

Look into Taking Cara Babies. No “cry it out” and has my 9 week old sleeping 6-10 hour stretches at night since she was 7 weeks.

You have to meet your baby where they are at developmentally. If you’re trying the CIO method before they’re ready then it’s not going to work. We did it at 7 months and the longest he ever cried was 10 mins and is a great sleeper but he was ready for sleep training. Taking cara babies has some great tips that is not sleep training for younger babies

thank you all! she has a god bedtime routine just wakes up quite a lot sometimes. but her naps are rough some days. i’ll look into what you guys recommended!❤️
