I just have to know if I’m the only one going through this and maybe someone has some tips.

Let me start with explaining my situation because this might make a difference. I’m a single mother by choice and because of circumstances I’m also a stay at home mom. So it has been me and my daughter from the beginning but my mother has been a great help and we see her almost daily. My daughter is crazy about her. Until recently my mother could put my daughter down for her nap but the last few days my daughter only wants me to put her down. It’s not the worst but she hardly wants to be away from me and when my mother can take her outside she will check every few minutes if I’m still inside and if she doesn’t see me she will yell for me.

She has been sick after a vaccination recently so I don’t know if that’s the reason this is happening. But honestly, I’m tired and I need a short break. Just a few hours away from her is enough. I’ve never been away from her and been taking care of her by my own for the last 14 months.

My mom can take her out of bed after her nap so we are trying if we can lengthen the time before she sees me after her nap and maybe I can have a afternoon for myself.

Anyone else who has a very clingy child and maybe any advice on how to handle this? I’m not comfortable just leaving her and letting her cry. My mom isn’t comfortable with this either so that’s not an option
