Standing to birth?

Question

So just curious ive heard someone say its way easier to push the baby out in a standing/squatting position rather then laying down. Just curious if anyone here stood and what theyre experience was like

Not standing, but I did birth on all fours and definitely preferred that to lying down.

I wanted to birth standing yesterday but didn’t work out that way as I did some practice pushes on my back during an examination and baby girl was here in just a few pushes. However my midwife explained that standing when possible is a good idea because your uterus ever so slightly tilts forward up towards your cervix and vagina so when you’re on your back not only is gravity not on your side but you have to push them up the birth canal and out where as when standing gravity will assist you and you push them in more of straight path out

I didn’t get to deliver standing, but with my second I could only get through the contractions while standing/squatting. And I started pushing that way and it felt good (as good as birthing a baby can anyway) but my baby wasn’t getting oxygen so they needed me to lay on my side to deliver.
On the flip side I despised standing or squatting with my first, anything except sitting or laying made the contractions a gazillion times worse. So I think each delivery is different.

I did but they flipped me on the hospital bed as baby came out.

My doctor had talked to me about using the squatting bars to birth since it’s supposed to be much easier and a more “natural” posture to birth in. I was all for it, but my labor pain oddly enough was mostly in my thighs so my legs were just like jelly...so I really didn’t even attempt to squat. I did, however, spend most of my labor on the birthing ball so being in that seated/squatting position really helped get the baby into position. I ended up birthing my son on my side.

I really wanted to ask my dr about this too but ended up having to have a c section.
