Ovulation test strips

I have been using ovulation test strips and I noticed the I only get a dark result for one day and then it goes right back to being light the next day, I am just wondering if that’s normal or if it should be getting darker signifying ovulation... and if that is a normal positive ovulation test should I consider that the day of ovulation or the day after? Sorry if this is confusing, I feel like all these tests have been driving me crazy lol.
