Trying TO GET RID OF BABY FEVER!!!!!

My S/O and I have been together for almost 6yrs, he has a child from a previous relationships who I love. We're both in our late 20s and I feel like I'm ready to have a child but we're not financially stable and we both decided to wait. I know right now isn't the right time to bring a child into the world but I can't stop thinking of having a baby! Has anyone else tried getting rid of baby fever? Is it even possible?
