Will shaving my face make the hair grow back thicker and darker?

I’ve been debating on shaving my face, like my whole face. I have dark hairs on my upper lip that I use nair for but I feel like the chemicals are not good for my skin. I also have a unibrow that I have plucked since elementary school. The rest of my face has thin blonde hair but even that is starting to get longer then I would like. I just feel like shaving would be so much more efficient but I fear the hair will grow back thicker and darker. Has anyone else ever shaved their whole face? What were the results?

No — shaving hair doesn't change its thickness, color or rate of growth. Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker — but it's not.

I’ve dermaplaned and it doesn’t grow back faster but if you’re doing it for the purpose of hair removal you should look into wax or threading. Wax you could do yourself

I’ve been shaving my face for almost 2 years now, I love it. No the hair doesn’t grow back darker (at least not for me.) I still pluck my brows because it’s more precise and lasts longer. For shaving I shave my top lip once or twice a week and it works great, after 3 days I tend to see little stubble so I just shave again. I then shave my whole face once every 1-2 weeks. I hAve had great results and it has actually helped me with my acne surprisingly. The important thing is to make time for it every week and to maintain a schedule

I do it all the time, my hair didn't grow out thicker or blunter or darker than what it originally was, not counting my 2-3 coarse chin hairs that I've been getting since puberty, I always pluck those, but I shave my "mustache"

I shave my face with eyebrow razors and my hair has never grown back thicker. Mind you I have dark hair, naturally thick eyebrows (unibrow and everything😂🤦🏻‍♀️), and some upper lip hair. I shave the baby fuzz on my whole face maybe once every week or two for about 4 years now and it’s never been an issue. It makes your skin look so nice and glowing and I love that it makes foundation look so much smoother.

Shaving doesn’t make the hair grow back any differently. I don’t shave my face with a razor but I dermaplane and just pluck my lip/eyebrows. You’re right about the chemicals in nair not being good for you so I’d definitely start doing something else. Depending on your skins sensitivity you could wax or thread. Personally, I can’t wax because it makes me break out.

Nope. I use the Tinkle razors to “shave” my face once a week. It gets rid of peach fuzz and dead skin. I feel like my skin looks even better since I started. I have super dark, thick hair...all over. This hasn’t changed any hair growth on my face. You will feel it once it starts growing back, but it’s just the same little peach fuzz as before. Not darker or thicker! I highly recommend the Tinkle razors too!
