OPK help?

I have been using the clear blue digital ovulation kit. I started testing about three days ago and got flashing smiley faces for two days. This morning I realized my previous kit ran out of sticks so I tossed the whole thing and opened a new pack. I tested this morning and this evening and I now have a circle. Has this happened to anyone before? I was reading online and saw that the first time you use the holder it takes the first urine as a baseline. If I was already ovulating on that first urine then my holder will never register a spike since the baseline was already high. Hopefully this makes sense! Does anyone have an ideas what to do?
