Not the birth story I was expecting.

After they stopped what they though were normal contractions last Thursday at 35 weeks, I didn’t know it was just the beginning of the scariest moments of my life. The contractions kept coming and finally around 11pm Friday night, I was crawling to my car with my fiancé behind me. I got to the hospital and hooked to monitors, an hour later everyone rushed in because baby’s heart rate kept dropping to 89-95 bpm. I had an emergency c section where they discovered my placenta was almost completely detached.

Baby Elon was 5 pounds 8 ounces. He suffered some lung damage and is currently in NICU recovering. He is a fighter and is no long intubated but has a long way to go.
