Can you get pregnant before ovulation?

This might be dumb but I’m just trying to educate myself and be aware of how things work.

Sperm lives for 1-5 days depending on conditions. If sperm is present and alive when the egg is released (ovulation), you can conceive. So yes, you can conceive from sex that occurs prior to ovulation. But you can't have fertilization or implantation prior to ovulation.
