IUD Advice?

I just had my sweet bundle of joy 2 weeks ago and today I had a follow up. We were discussing birth control. My Dr. recommended an IUD since this is probably my last kid. I’ve always taken the pill. I was wondering if some of y’all had any experience with an IUD and if you’d be willing to share?

I got the paraguard after my second baby. Insertion wasn’t a big deal, no worse than an non medicated birth. I had maybe 1 period after getting it and then no cycles. Which was nice, no complaints. However, it become dislodged and I ended up pregnant with my 3rd baby much sooner than I anticipated. So for me, I won’t go that route again bc I’m done having kiddos.

I has my last baby in September and the iud in November. It was painful to put in but i hear thats uncommon. I bled very lightly on and off for the first three months. No issues since. Good luck.
