My boyfriend and I been together 10 months now, his wife passed away TWO years from cancer before we got together. We're planning to move forward in our relationship, starting a family possibly getting married I hope & I asked could I move in with him two weeks ago & he agreed.

Before I moved in I've only visited like three times, he just would always come over my place and hang out or we would get a room. As I was unpacking my things Monday I noticed a couple pictures of his ex wife are still hanging up. I asked him why weren't they taken down yet and he just gave me this dumb look and didn't say anything. I didn't want to make a big deal so I just took them down myself because maybe he just didn't think about it.

Until I noticed he has a box of her ashes hidden in the closet. I found it while I was moving his things out the way to make room for mine and a couple other her things not clothes but loose makeup and underwear and things. I was furious and called him while he was at work of course he didn't answer because he probably already knew what I wanted. I waited til he got home and we immediately started arguing, I told him how weird and creepy it is to have an EX ashes when you have a new girlfriend. All he had to say was why was I snooping through his things.

I told him if you're not over your ex that's dead then we don't need to be together. He told me he was and was trying to calm me down saying he wanted things to work & that he needed me and all this other crap. I told him i'd he really loved me and wanted to be with me he would throw those ashes away and NOT in front of our house. He seemed hesitant about it like he didn't want to get rid of them so I just stormed off and we didn't talk the rest of the night and things were weird the next day. I asked him next day did he get rid of them when he got of work and he just ignored me and were still not talking.

Am I over reacting? Do you think it's right for your boyfriend to still try keep things from his old marriage ???
