Am I crazy?!

So my SO has been abusive in the past. In every kind of way. But he has always apologized and everything and always says he’s not like the rest and blah blah blah. He has even cheated on me. So why the hell can I not leave him? Like he is better now and the abuse has pretty much stopped. So why can’t I leave. Like we even got a divorce. Is there something wrong with me?

I don’t think you’re dumb, I think you just are stuck in the cycle of abuse. It can be hard to leave. Trauma bonding is a real thing. But you NEED to get out before it starts again

I'm sorry your going through this. Abuse is serious and I'm sure he has done alot of damage more than you may even know. One day you will be tired of shit and you will leave. I would see what kind of resources you have where you live. My town unfortunately dont have much but id take advantage and learn more about your options. Sometimes its hard to leave because your scared he will come for you. But I know alot of places have nice shelters and can help you get rid of that asshole
