Christmas Spending
This is our first year as a married couple, and we agreed last week we would spend $50 per parent, step parent, and sibling. Over the weekend, DH and my SIL were trying to come up with an xmas idea for my MIL - who asked to do a Polyanna this year because she is short on cash. DH and SIL came up with an idea of chipping in to buy something for her house, that would cost us no less than $200. I'm upset for one because I wasn't involved in the decision and now look like the bad guy for disagreeing and two that I don't think it's fair to spend at least four times as much on one parent. He says we won't get her anything next year because of it, and that his family does things like that all the time. In my family everything has always been Even Steven. I don't know if I'm being ridiculous or if my feelings are justified. 😢
