How many of you are having family/friends get covid tested or wear masks around your infant?

no because it’s stupid and unnecessary, just like the shot. no one in my family is high risk/susceptible to diseases so i have no reason to take precautions like this. i’d honestly rather keep people with masks away from my kid or ask them to please take it off. i don’t want to look at any of that shit around my kids, this isn’t normal and i’m not going to make it “normal” for my kids. more worried about COVID vaccinated people being around my children than non vaccinated and idgaf how that sounds. it’s my personal choice and my kids and i are just fine.

I’m not as worried as I was, as everyone in my immediate family (except me and everyone who lives with me - currently not eligible) has now had the jab.
Numbers in the UK are dropping rapidly, and although I’d expect people to still follow the basic rules (stay at home if you feel unwell) I’m pretty comfortable that a) the chances of the baby being exposed are minimal and b) if she does get exposed and catch it, most cases in infants are not serious.  
I can’t wrap this baby up in cotton wool.  She will live in a household with two other snotty kids who go to school and are exposed to germs.  On the other hand I also do not want to risk her immune system by NOT exposing her to the common illnesses in her first months of life.   
I’m a firm believer that over sanitising (not just covid) is a trigger for all sorts of childhood allergies etc and our immune systems are designed to be exposed in order for us to raise tolerances.
Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be reckless with my baby’s health, but I’ll also be realistic about the risks of exposure to covid vs the risks of isolation and lack of socialisation when her brain is developing the most.

No that’s unnecessary to me lol I leave it to personal choice if they wanna wear one and I definitely don’t require a test to be done. And if they got flu shot recently then they won’t come over- my mom always gets severely sick we don’t know why so she wouldn’t show up if she got it before baby is born.

I’m requiring vaccines for anyone who wants to see the baby. I don’t trust the tests 100%, but I trust the vaccines.

Family can visit, no kissing, hand washing, have to wear a mask. Honestly these things were a total battle with family with our last baby so I am not looking forward to this. Also baby is going to be close to 37 weeks so we want to make sure he is as safe as possible mostly because of flu and whooping cough can be dangerous for his small lungs.

Me 🖐 Mask wearing around the baby and hand washing/hand sanitizer before holding the baby or my 2 yr old. 
I’m also waiting until baby is at least 2-3 weeks old to have anyone come up besides the one set of grandparents. 
With my first, family started showing the morning after I delivered without asking me and I was annoyed af. My little one was in the NICU and I had a hard labor with bleeding so being surrounded by a bunch of people was the last thing I wanted and they were SO bad about hand washing and sanitizer. Asking me to go out to eat and go shopping and then getting upset when I didn’t want to and then making comments that I didn’t seem happy enough to had just had a baby 🤦🏼‍♀️ So yeah, those people are getting put on the back of the list this time. They also are anti-maskers/don’t understand the concept that wearing masks protects the people AROUND you, substantially more than protecting yourself. 
Just because you’re someone who is healthy and will be asymptotic if you contract COVID-19, doesn’t mean the hundreds to thousands of people you unknowingly transmit it to by not wearing a mask, will be okay. The grandparents I know will at least follow my preferences for mask wearing and hand washing without trying to sneak not doing it if I’m not in the room.
Whatever your preferences are, it’s your baby and body so don’t let anyone make you do anything you’re not comfortable with no matter which end of the spectrum you’re on.
