Measuring big and induction?

Question

35+3 and baby’s weight is estimated at 7 pounds. Head and body in 90-something percentile. They were talking induction at 39 weeks, but I thought the weight thing was just a guess? I have to let them know next week if I want to schedule the induction or wait it out.

My son was always measuring 2-3 weeks ahead and was born at 37w5d. He weighed 8 lbs 3 oz. I would’ve had to be induced at 39 weeks so luckily he came when he did! Sometimes they can be right it just depends 🤷🏻‍♀️

No no no. Do not let them talk you into being induced. These measurements aren't 100% accurate and your baby and your body know when the right time is. I absolutely cannot stand when doctors push inductions. It makes labor longer and a c section 3 times more likely. All for what? Please advocate for yourself. Inductions shouldn't be used for non-medical reasons and there's nothing wrong with the possibility of a big baby.

I just had a growth ultrasound today, I’m 34 weeks and 5 days. My baby girl weighs 6lbs, 12oz. And in the 96th percentile. She also has very long thigh and arm bones. My doctor is not worried at all. She simply stated that I’ll be having a bigger/healthy baby.  I’ve brought up induction, she reassured me that we will keep monitoring her growth and push to stick to my birth plan which includes no induction and vaginal delivery.  I hope you can stick to your plan and not be pressured into something you do not want to do! 🙏🏾

Mine was measuring >99th percentile at 32 weeks. Weighing approximately 6lbs at that point. My doctor said either an induction or c-section at 39 weeks. My plan is to do an induction and if it ends in a c-section, then whatever is safest. 
My first was an induction due to high blood pressure and the induction went super smooth and he was out within 24 hours of me getting to the hospital. 30 minutes of pushing. I’m hoping this one isn’t huge and I have an easy labor and delivery like last time

Definitely go with your gut, for my first it was actually pretty accurate. I was induced for hbp with her at 39weeks and had a very successful birth. 5 hour labor and only started at a 1cm. 
But if you can and want to try to wait till your due date :)

My doctor schedules elective inductions at 39 weeks regardless of babies size.  If you don’t want to do it then you don’t have to!

Hmmmmm....that’s a toughy, take the advise of a trained professional or trust some random people giving anecdotal advice in the internet. Seriously, people forget that pregnancy and child birth are the riskiest experience you will have up until this point in your life. I’d take the advice of a doctor.

My doctor is recommending induction at 39 weeks and baby has been measuring in the 98th percentile. At 33w he was estimated at 6lb 6oz. I haven’t made a decision on it yet, but they haven’t pressured me to.

I’m scheduled for induction at 39 weeks due to baby boy being 95% in size since 32 weeks (and still was at 35 weeks).  My first came at 37+6 though so I doubt I’ll make it to 39.
