Question

Would you recommend the Owlet? Why or why not? TIA!

Answer

We were using the owlet as soon as we got home from the hospital with our baby girl. It started alarming about a week later high heart rate and then would stop. We thought it was a false alarm but we still took her to the pediatrician the next day. He couldn’t find anything wrong. It alarmed again that night. He sent us to the urgent care. They couldn’t find anything wrong and even told us to stop using it. It alarmed again a couple of days later so her pediatrician sent us to a cardiologist. After doing an EKG and echo he couldn’t find anything wrong with her. It continued alarming and she was showing no symptoms. Each time she was sound asleep. After a couple more times of it alarming high heart rate in the middle of the night her cardiologist sent us to the ER. When we got there she was in SVT and her heart rate was over 300. God saved our baby through the owlet. She was 19 days old at the time. She’s on medication now and doing great. But if it wasn’t for the owlet who knows how long it would’ve been before finding out. It’s better to have it and have that peace of mind.

I’m able to sleep peacefully knowing that if anything happens, it’ll wake me up. It’s worth every penny. The smart sock is one of the few must have items on my list.

We just took a baby product safety course that is given by our hospital, and they specifically called out the owlet for several reasons...the one that really got me though was that it has been known to cause some pretty bad burns on baby's foot. If you happen to get a defective one, it can really injure your child.
