Anyone opting out of cervical dilation checks during check up?

Yep. I am opting out again with this pregnancy! 
They're unnecessary, can't predict when you'll go into labor, can cause unnecessary trauma to your cervix, accidently break water, strip membranes, etc. 
And they're so painful for me. I even limited them while I was in labor.

It gives me a lot of peace of mind getting cervical checks! I just like knowing where my body is at, even though they aren’t the most pleasant 😣 I am curious why you are opting out though!

I mean the sex every day is much rougher than those cervical checks so eh whatever. I like to know even if it means nothing. More than anything I think its helpful that they can tell you effacement bc that means more than dilation.

I went into labor at 36 weeks 4 days and was getting checked about every 6-8 hours for three ish days (some by request) and then labor stopped, so I’m not going to get checked until I go into labor again because I am pretty over having hands in my vagina😂😂

I wanted just one done to check on my torn cervix but my dr said she’d do it then didn’t. Just praying it doesn’t tear open before time or during delivery. Other than that I see no point really.

37w STM:
Just had an appointment today (1st app on the hospital I will deliver) and the doc asked if I wanted to get checked or a sweep and I said no. It meant nothing with my 1st baby... 🤷‍♀️
