Everyone swears by these...everyone has too many opinions about everything else. First two are expensive though.

I'm a first time mom and after talking with my mommy friends they told me to make sure to register for things for when the baby gets older. For example, toddler utensils, plates, sippy cups, and play mats. Also if registering for pacis and bottles make sure to get the different level nipples and pacis for older months. And one thing I didn't think about was a water proof crib mattress cover. Big things I registered for was travel system, swing, 4 in 1 high chair, and monitor. Hope this helps!!

My registery just started as a list for myself on Amazon to keep track of what I want to get. So, it has everything on there from baby nail clippers to the crib and stroller.

The more important things on there are:
baby carrier
stroller with car seat set (I'm going with Chico brand)
Swaddler outfits and swaddling blankets
Boppy pillow for nursing 
High chair - I went with one that folds up nicely for storage and should work well as the child grows
Bumbo chair
Changing pad

I just ordered a rocking/reclining chair over the weekend and my parents ordered me the crib I wanted.

We registered for the Mimo baby monitor... it's a sensor the baby wears in his or her onsie and it let's you know his or her temp, sleeping position, breathing, activity, and is sound sensitive. It comes with a monitor, and you can also download an app on your phone... 
It's pretty impressive!!!

My husband and I are getting the travel system, my parents bought me my pack n play with a changing table attached and my grandmother (mom's mom) is getting us the swing.
