What’s the difference??

Cervical check is just the OB or midwife checking to see your effacement and dilation. 
A sweep starts off as a check but then they use their fingers to sweep around the neck of the womb a few times to separate the membrane from the cervix. Both can be uncomfortable but I think the sweep is painful.

I just had the sweep yesterday and it’s just a pinching feeling. It’s not fun or exciting but I wouldn’t say it’s painful. It’s kinda like a Pap smear to be honest
