How much would you pay for a tattoo that’s the same size/style as this one?

I have a scar that I’m getting covered with a branch and two birds sitting together. The scar is kind of in a “t” shape that’s about 4inx3in.
I want it to be a good cover and to be able to tip my artist well without stressing about the budget.
It’s really important to me so I want to make sure I pay a decent amount but I also can’t go drop $600 on a forearm tattoo right now so any help would be appreciated.

i have a tattoo similar to size and color, it was one session(don’t remember how long it took because i fell asleep but i think it was a little over an hour ??) and cost $140 and then i always tip good so it was around $220

Where I’m from, that would be at least $500! Especially since it has color and detail. That’s not included tip.

Id say $300. It’s a one session kind of piece but it has the technical aspect of being over scar tissue. It’s a good piece but not worth $600 for that size and placement.
