2 year old afraid of crib/bed suddenly

So a couple days ago our daughter tried climbing out of her crib for the first time & ended up face planting on the floor. Other than a small spot of rug burn on her forehead she is fine but it really scared her. Now she is terrified to get into her crib which means I'm back to holding her until she falls asleep (which can take 15 minutes to 2 hours) otherwise she will scream & cry until she pukes whether I sit next to her on the floor or leave the room. This new fear has also led to middle of the night wakeup lasting anywhere from 1-3 hours.

We have ordered the toddler rail to convert her crib to a toddler bed in hopes of it helping but it won't be here for a few more days. Any tips to help her get over this fear? We are all exhausted & I know she is overtired. We are expecting baby #2 next month so I'd at least like to get back to her putting herself to sleep in her bed by then.

I should also mention she really struggled with the time change as well which may be adding to the issue.
