picky eater small victory ??
my son (6yrs old) is a VERY picky eater. he’ll only eat tacos (no tomatoes, no lettuce, and a crap ton of sour cream), mac and cheese if my husband eats it with him (but they have to share a bowl or else he won’t eat it), and peeled apples. i’ve tried EVERYTHING to get him to eat something else but this has been going on since he was 3-4, we’ve pretty much given up. he won’t even eat cakes, ice cream, or any flavored drink. i always tell him what me and hub are eating and ask if he wants to try it, the answer is always no.
UNTIL TONIGHT ! i made broccoli and steak and he came over to my husbands plate and asked what the green stuff was. long story short HE ATE IT AND LIKED IT. it took a little encouragement and a little bit of playing with our food (we stood them up like a forest and him and hub ate them like giants from jack and the beanstalk) but hopefully this will be the last of the picky eating phase 🙏
my questions are:
should i immediately start making him a plate of what we’re eating ? or still make him the tacos but let him pick off our plates ? i’m worried if we make the transition too quick he’ll get upset and never try anything again.. but i’m also so excited for when i don’t have to buy ground beef and sour cream in bulk anymore,, i have no idea where to go from here lol. please if anyone is in or was in a similar situation what did you do to make the change successful ?!
