Do daycares have cameras ?

Do most daycares have cameras where the parents can view the class from anywhere? Or is that not a thing? I sent my son to one today and they have cameras but we can only view the classroom through the monitor at the daycare

Nope. I feel like that's way to much pressure on a teacher to know they're being watched all day. Cameras don't show certain situations. For example, if a child is crying on camera, a parent may wonder why and call the school, angry. When actually, their child may have been the one who hit a friend and had to walk away from the area. Then times(x) that situation by a hundred kids and parents. The director would be on the phone all day! And the teachers would constantly be trying to explain each situation all day!

My little one goes to a daycare that has cameras that are viewable from anywhere. I can watch from my desktop while working or from my phone when I’m out. I can see her having snacks, lunch, playing, napping. I interviewed several daycares when I did my initial search and only a couple had the camera feature. It was a positive but not the main deciding factor; the daycare had many other things I liked.

I’ve worked a lot of daycares and preschools, only one had cameras in the room and it wasn’t for remote viewing. You could only watch at the center and even then it was really more for it a situation came up, not for parents just to watch

I work in a daycare and a lot of them do have cameras, but they are there for if something happens such as a parent complaining of something we can go back and look over it. I havnt heard of places any that have cameras for the parents to watch.

Yes they do only in classrooms though and there are a few facilities that let you have access on an app. Like la petite academy does and they have their own app.

I’ve worked at a few daycares and none of them did that. One had cameras that you could only view from the directors office, but I’m pretty sure that was only in case of an incident to be able to review it.

Most have a closed circuit. You would have to specifically look for one that have that option.
