Welcome! And birth story

At 40 weeks I went for another check and got a sweep. I had been having prodromal labor almost every night for a week or two and super discouraged. They scheduled induction for 40+5 and today they called me at 5 am thank good I put my sound and turned off Do not disturb last night around midnight. Woke up at 2 am completely awake. Went back to sleep at 4am and at 5am they called me to come in for 7am. I got ready for breakfast to make sure I had a good meal before a long day and while I was cutting a mango my water broke. 😅 I told my husband I felt weird because my stomach was super hard almost like the craziest Braxton Hicks I had ever had. Headed to hospital and body was starting to contract ....they checked me and I was already at 5/6cm. After getting admitted and labs back they started a low dose of pitocin and I asked for the epidural right away (just in case) which was a great move because right after me the doctor went and had to give 4 more and I would have had to wait. Not even 2 hours later I was completely ready to push. They asked if I wanted to do a practice push but I knew I wouldn’t have trouble. I kinda sat up and she’s like woah lay back down you’re already crowning. Baby came in 3 pushes with no tearing. Had some post partum bleeding but it resolved quick and we are recovering.
Waiting to 40+5 was horrible. I felt so defeated and sad and depressed like my body let me down. But really I was getting prepared for the best and easiest delivery of my life. My midwife and nurses were so happy for me they said I had the most wonderful and easy experience.
Good luck ladies and for those over due hang in there. When it’s time you will know and be ready
Much love ❤️
