Small Baby?

Question

Has anyone been told they might have a small baby? I had a growth check and was told that at 32weeks and 2 days that my baby was only 3lbs and 10oz which I have read is a good weight but idk. I am nervous the baby will be small.

My first was born at 5lbs 8oz with absolutely no medical issues at 37 weeks. She was stuck breech so I had to have a c section. The surgery is how we found out I have an very small uterus, so my doctor has warned me that my next will likely be small too. My first was fully caught up on weight by her first month, though. I was worried she’d be permanently behind in growth, but once she had the room to grow she caught up quickly.

Yep, my baby was 21st percentile at our 30w growth scan, but up from 7th at 28w. Depending on whether you have any conditions to manage (I have low papp-a and GD) it may be worth seeking a referral to a dietitian as it certainly helped us with our growth. We have another scan in 3 days so we’re hoping to see even more progress for bub!

I was told my baby went from the 68th percentile to the 16th in just a few weeks, so now I’m getting weekly ultrasounds to make sure he’s not getting any smaller. If your doctor isn’t concerned then I wouldn’t be either. Good luck mama!!

Me , I go tomorrow for a recheck with maternal and fetal medicine to make sure . Last time she was in the 13th percentile at 2 pounds 9 ouches at 29 weeks . I’m not too worried right now because I’m small, I come from a short family and I was a small baby too. Your baby may possibly be small but doesn’t mean that’s bad! If they aren’t concerned I would try to not get super worried!
